Weather: There had been one or two showers only in the preceding week and the ground was definitely dryer than in previoius weeks. The day itself was dry and sunny in the most part.

Report: We were not expecting this week to be as productive as previous weeks due to a period of dry weather and the fact that the grass had been cut recently. Although we only found a few specimens there were one or two interesting finds. The wood chip pile was covered with fruitbodies, which were immediately recognised by Barry Hughes as Agrocybe rivulosa, a species first described in 2003 by Nauta when she was looking through the Herbarium in Lieden. It has been reported spreading across Britain and is always found on woodchips. It has a wrinkled cap and masses of mycelium attached to the base of the stem. Stuart took a specimen and was surprised to find smaller spores and different cheilocystidia to those described by Nauta. After collecting further specimens the spore size fitted but there were still utriform cystidia present, something not featuring in the original description. Other interesting finds included the large dark green cup fungus Catinella olivacea and the resupinate Peniophora laeta which grows on hornbeam and puts up little pegs from the spore surface to push off the overlying bark and allow the spores to escape. We searched the area of parkland were we have found Boletus legaliae (satanoides as was) in the past and we rewarded with one specimen albeit showing marked signs of drying out.
