Weather: September still continued to be dry with only 18% of average rainfull although we did have a small shower later on in the day.

New to HFRG: Arcyria nutans
Report: In view of the dry weather we visited the Water Copse area once again with Glynne Evans to guide us through the myriad of paths. Fruitbodies were not prolific although Paul found a few respuinates and all admired a good display of Chlorocibora aeruginascens (Green elfcap). Over lunch the grassland had a few specimens of the unusual conocybe C. apala with its cap apparently collapsing over the stem. A small saddle shaped helvella was determined to be Helvella latispora by Stuart and Eric working independently. After lunch in a dry patch of mixed woodland a cluster of two boletes gave rise to much speculalation that Boletus fragrans might have been found but on review by Alan and Geoffrey Kibby on the BMS Facebook site the final conclusion was that this was a specimen of B. pulverolentus affected by the dry weather.
