Report: (Eric Janke)The dry weather of the previous weeks broke too late to produce the riches of last year’s event but at least the display was (surprisingly) impressive. The same could not be said for the forays! While there was no shortage of Amanita citrina, Leccinum scabrum and Scleroderma citrina to allow the introduction of the idea of gills, pores and “stomachs”, there wasn't the range of species to keep the foray leaders on their toes. However, we did find decent numbers of the beautiful (and well-named) Mycena adonis, the uncommon Boletus calopus and a yellow-capped Russula sardonia tricked Eric into mistakenly tasting it!

(Stuart) This was the second time that we have held this event and once more several hundred members of the public attended and were introduced to the wonderful kingdom of fungi. The event requires many members of the group to help by leading forays, advertising, manning the exhibition, setting out the display and coordinating the whole event and its success is a testament to the strength of the group. This was truly a group event and whilst not wishing to single any one person out the event would not have happened were it not for the organisation and publicity skills of Sue Rogerson, Alan Lucas and Sue Howe. Well done everyone.
