Report: (Alan Lucas) The first duty of the day was for Eric to present Alan with the book covering the Genera Hemimycena Delicatula and others for his 60th birthday given by some members of the group and needless to say he was very pleased to receive it.

Rather than drive to our usual starting point at the farm Glyn Evans suggested it might be nice for the group to go a different route starting from the office and was happy to lead us. We set off and soon approached what would usually be quite a boggy area that was still dampish and one or two fungi were found including Godronia ribis that grows on dead Red or Black current stems and has only been recorded by the group once before. As the day went on it was becoming difficult to find much because everywhere was so incredibly dry, but after lunch as we were approaching our usual foraying area when John Parsons found a few fruitbodies of Mitrophora semilibera that were getting past their ‘sell by date’ However we soon found some fresher specimens further along the river bank which provided a great opportunity for our resident photographers.
